Total alkalinity should be maintained between 80 – 150mg/l (ppm).
Test the total alkalinity level of the hot tub water and if it is below 80mg/l (ppm) use Alkalinity Increaser to raise the level.
InSpire Alkalinity Increaser is used to raise the total alkalinity level in your hot tub.
Low total alkalinity causes spa water to be corrosive that may result in the staining of hot tub surfaces. Low total alkalinity may also cause ph to fluctuate when being adjusted.

Regular maintenance is essential to prolong the life of your hot tub, so along with water cleaning products like chlorine you will need to pay attention to filters, pipes, and the interior of your tub. Rapid filter clean will keep your filters clear and Spa Shine can help to protect your hot tub from UV rays and chemical degradation.
Miami Spas offer many chemicals and cleaning products to keep your tub in tip top condition. Bromine is less harsh on the skin and chlorine can be easier to regulate and maintain control of water levels. Depending on the type of water in your area you may need additives like Alkalinity Increaser or Water Hardener to prevent excess foam or limescale build up.
Filters are the first protection for bacteria as this is where the debris and all of the bacteria gets sucked down. Filters should be checked once or twice a week to make sure they are still clean – you can purchase a filter cleaner. We recommend changing your filter when you change your water which is every three months. But always check your filters once or twice a week.
Your hot tub will slowly start to build up with bacteria as it is used, so a hot tub flush may be needed. Add it to your spa and run it as normal. The cleaner will move with the water through the jets and pipes effectively flushing all the dirt and bacteria build up, restoring your hot tub to peak condition.
All Miami Spas customers will receive a complimentary cleaning pack when a new hot tub or swim spa is purchased. This can help you determine if you will need products like Foam Away and other hot tub cleaning products for ongoing maintenance.
All chemicals should be added to warm water until dissolved before adding to your hot tub.
Add chemicals to the filter housing so that they go straight through the circulation area.
Leave tub several hours after adding a chemical to have change to circulate before testing and adding more.
Firstly
Test Alkalinity first and get that up to balance TA – increaser will help this one. Make sure levels are ok before adding any other chemicals.
Secondly
PH balance once this is at an ok level you can then add chlorine.
Lastly
Add chlorine last. Do a shock dose for first time or when there is no chlorine present. Shock will be around 60 grams.
Please leave your tub a full 24/48 hours once chemicals are added before you use your tub, once you have used the tub you will need to add more chemicals as the levels would have dropped in the chlorine.
Test your tub daily until you get the hang of a routine when you will need to add certain chemicals.
Cloudy water is PH balance not level to correct either increase or decrease and leave several hours until tested again to let the chemicals circulate round the tub.
Green water is low chlorine or no chlorine we advise shock dose.
This is down to personal preference but depending on the positioning of your hot tub you may find an Undermount or Side Mount Cover Lifter useful for easy removal and replacement of the lid. Or to protect your hot tub and provide a bit of extra privacy a Gazebo may be required that will create more seclusion when using your tub. Cleaning chemicals, replacement filters and a floating dispenser helps to keep your tub clean and ready to use.
Our favourite accessory, which we think is a great addition to any hot tub is the Hot tub LED floating spa bar. This Party perfect accessory fits up to six drinks and a bottle of wine or champagne, the remote control allows you to choose from 16 LED colour options to set the mood.

“ We ordered our hot tub and expected to have a reasonable wait for a delivery date, expecially as we ordered over a bank holiday weekend. However, we received a phone call on bank holiday monday to say they had a delivery date from in as little as two days time! So that was it – ordered and delivered within a week !!! The hot tub is the miami (budget model), but we are enjoying it immensely. The delivery guys were fantastic (Denny and ?? so sorry, I forgot your colleagues name). No fuss whatsoever – delivered, placed exactly where I wanted, and given full details on the use of the chemicals. Cannot have asked for more – excellent service from start to finish. ”

“ We were so impressed by Miami Spas and Superior Wellness from the beginning and having used our hot tub for 2 months now, I wanted to leave an honest and fair review. This company is excellent, not only in the products they supply but their staff and attention to detail outshone anyone we have purchased from before. It was a dreary day when the team arrived to fit our spa in November and we also received a surprise visit from Amanda and Rachel who were the girls who fulfilled our order online. What a wonderful team, this is how you would want every purchase to be. They were kind, informative, helpful and nothing was a problem. They explained everything thoroughly and a tiny part was missing which was soon dispatched and dealt with. We use our tub every other day , it is a dream escape for us made better by the company who provided it. Thank you so much to everyone. Karl and Carolyn. ”
