Save on energy bills with our new Air Source Heat Pumps

With energy bills increasing there has never been a better time to invest in the new Superior Wellness Air Source Heat Pumps; the efficient way of heating your hot tub. They can be used all year round giving great savings on energy bills.

Air source heat pumps are an energy-efficient and economical way of heating your hot tub or swim spa. They have already proved to be beneficial for heating homes, commercial spaces or swimming pools and now they have become increasingly popular for hot tubs.

Heat pumps make use of significantly less energy when compared to natural gas. Although the time taken to heat the water might be the same as their electric or gas-powered counterparts, the process is much more efficient and economical.

How does a heat pump work?

Heat pumps heat up the water by extracting natural heat from the outside air. The heat pump fan draws in the air and directs it over the evaporator coil which contains an advanced liquid refrigerant. The air turns into a gas which is then compressed to increase the heat. This hot gas passes through the heat exchanger which transfers the heat from the hot gas to water and heats it up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Parts like electronic control panels are exposed to the elements and frequently used to switch jets off and on, or adjust the hot tub water temperature leading to malfunction from normal wear and tear. Mechanical components like pumps and heaters run constantly to heat and filter the hot tube water and can need to be replaced after a number of years.

There are not a lot of non-electrical or non-mechanical parts that might need replacement, but things like headrests can get worn or gather mould if the hot tub is not cleaned regularly or is left to stand unused for long periods. Occasionally, a hot tub jet may become loose and need to be replaced but regular cleaning and maintenance should help to minimise these instances.

Limiting the water flow or redirecting it to specific jets can be achieved using a hot tub diverter. This handy plug prevents the water from jets and rediverts the jet action to different areas of the hot tub. This can be helpful for creating more powerful jet action for therapeutic or massage purposes, and it can help to create features like waterfalls in the tub.

Most modern spas come with a high-tech control board built into their system. This controls things like the hot tubs heating and pump systems and eliminates the need for a tangled maze of wires. For older hot tubs or ones that have outdated operating systems which are no longer serviceable, these handy boards can be installed as a solution.
